DNA samples can be found anywhere, even on non-standard articles, such as a toothbrush, hairbrush or a licked envelope. When a standard sample is not available, we may be able to obtain enough DNA from non-standard articles to create a DNA profile, possibly proving identity and /or paternity.
It does not usually provide legally admissible proof, since an impartial third party was not present for the Chain of Custody collection procedure
